Hello,


I wanted to let you know that tomorrow evening, Friday February 9, Lyrasis will be running a quick database update in our production instance of ArchivesSpace. There will be no need for staff to alter their routines, although we are scheduling this for after 6pm eastern to minimize any impact on the system.


This database update is the continued progress of data cleanup in preparation for the ArchivesSpace PUI soft-launch. The PUI Data Cleanup & Enhancements group has completed their work in our TEST instance and QC'd the results with repositories. We are now moving ahead to perform the data cleanup in PROD.


When Lyrasis ran the date normalization update in our TEST instance it took approximately 40 minutes on a much slower system than our PROD server is. Still, we are scheduling this work for Friday evening after staff have left work. The update does not require our system to be offline, or rebooted/reindexed upon completion.


I'll work with Lyrasis in the evening and send out an update when the work is finished.


A special thanks to the PUI Data Workgroup for all their effort leading up to these significant enhancements to our metadata.
