Hello Everyone,
A brief update to let you know both events have gone well this weekend. The upgrade to TEST is complete and is now at the latest general release of 2.4.1. The TEST system is available for staff to use as needed, and the PUI Project Leads and YAMS will begin the remaining work to ready us for the upgrade to Production in a few weeks.
We have also been reviewing the Subject & Agents record load in production. This review will continue into Monday morning, with an update on the year+ effort to prepare for this past weekend's event, and the enhancements it brings to our archival systems. Staff are free to use Production ArchivesSpace as normal.
More soon,
Melissa

Subject: upgrade to TEST ArchivesSpace this weekend AND more
Hello,
The TEST instance of ArchivesSpace will be upgraded this weekend, Friday July 20-Sunday July 22.
The TEST upgrade will begin late in the evening on Friday July 20, and typically completes by Saturday morning. However, a full reindex is also part of the process and that typically takes 24-48 hours to complete, sometimes extending to a portion of the Monday following the weekend.
The TEST system will be available after the upgrade step completes on Saturday, but you may notice that some content is still indexing and not immediately available, especially from the larger repositories of data.
YAMS has been testing the features of the new 2.4.1 release and all our custom plugins. All workflows appear to be in order, and YAMS is ready to move forward the effort of upgrading TEST. During this particular upgrade, there will be NO refresh of data from PROD. The data in TEST will remain as it is now.
The external contractors/developers who routinely work in TEST on behalf of several departments at YUL have also been notified of the upcoming change.
Please let me, or Matthew Gorham, Chair of YAMS, know if you have any questions or concerns.
Now the More-
After more than a year, the Subjects & Agents work group, led by Karen Spicher, is ready to upload these records to Production ArchivesSpace staff interface. This separate effort will ALSO happen this weekend. Late Friday evening (after 9pm our time) PROD ArchivesSpace will be unavailable for several hours while these records are loaded. There will also be reindexing in PROD, but just a few hours. This is NOT an upgrade to PROD. For any questions, please contact Karen Spicher.
We'll be closely monitoring over the weekend, and we'll update you on the outcomes this Monday.
Thank you,
Melissa Wisner
IT Portfolio Manager
