This will result in a momentary outage of the staff and public ASpace test interfaces, as well as the test API. If this poses an issue then please let me know. Changes include: -Added drop-down menu which allows users to navigate to a particular series -Added ability to place a request from the finding aid view -Removed navigation tree from left side of page -Improved display of component unique identifiers (i.e. series, accession numbers) ? this actually will not be viewable in its entirety until the PUI is reindexed, but here is an example. -Generally improved layout, fonts, jargon, accessibility, etc. Please be aware that because the entire page now loads when you click on the Finding Aid View tab, larger finding aids may take a bit longer to appear. However, this change allows users to search the entire finding aid using CTRL-F, which is not possible in the current version. We encourage staff to explore the new features and reply to this email with any feedback you may have. Thank you! Please be aware that when merging agent records, if the agent record that will be merged (and then subsequently deleted from the database) contains a note or any contact details, that data will not be added to the record into which the agent record is being merged, and will be lost once the merge is complete. This is true for both the staff interface and the API. Please be sure to review all agent records for the presence of contact details and notes before performing any merges. If you are performing merges via the API, I have a script that I can provide you which will check all of your records for the presence of notes or contact details prior to merging any records. I have added a note to the Merging Records section of the Agents and Subjects Best Practices document in order to make YUL users aware of this situation. I intend to submit a JIRA ticket to ArchivesSpace as well, but it may be some time before this issue is resolved. Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions.
