[Yale ArchivesSpace] Spawning accession records?

Hi all,

If your workflows involve you spawning accession records to create a resource record in ArchivesSpace, please note that if the accession record is published, then the resulting resource record will also be published as soon as you save it unless you uncheck the Publish? box before saving. Please make sure to do that, otherwise the newly-created resource record will show up as a finding aid in Archives at Yale a few minutes later. If you don’t do that the first time, just edit the resource record later on and unpublish it.

See the attached screenshot for an example. And if you don’t spawn accession records, don’t worry about it 😊

If anyone has any questions, please let me know. Ideally I’d like to update the ArchivesSpace core code so that the publication status does *not* carry over during the spawning process, but that will likely take a while.

All my best,

Mark
