[Yale ArchivesSpace] Production Change 19 May :: Digitization Work Order

YUL ArchivesSpace Users:

Due to user error (yours truly), this plugin update did not happen correctly. Lyrasis is happy to restart the Prod server again in the wee hours of tonight.

The standing policy is for 2 business days’ notice before an extraordinary restart of the Prod server. If this shorter timeline presents a problem for anyone, please let me know. I’ll be messaging the points of contact for our major integrations separately from this email just to be sure about those.

YUL ArchivesSpace Users:

Next Wednesday (19 May 2021), we will be updating the Digitization Work Order plugin in the YUL production instance of ArchivesSpace. There will be no meaningful downtime, as this changeover is expected to happen around 4am EDT, the usual Wednesday restart time.*

As well, this will not affect everyone, only those people who are using the plugin for digitization work orders. These changes will be in the output of the plugin, as the motivation for changing the plugin is to move more toward using Goobi and more away from using Ladybird. Thanks to Mark Custer, I've attached 2 spreadsheets that show the differences between the two outputs. The changes have been in Yale's ArchivesSpace Test environment for some time now and are considered stable and working.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have about this!

* If you never knew or have forgotten, restarts of the Test environment happen every Wednesday at about 4am and restarts of the Prod environment happen the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, also at about 4am.
