[Yale ArchivesSpace] Reminder: Downtime, Upgrade

We hit a hitch with the database upgrade, which has meant that ArchivesSpace has been down longer than anyone wanted and that we’ll have this to do again, hopefully as soon as this time next week.

Friends of ArchivesSpace:



Your reminder that this evening, our production instance of ArchivesSpace will be upgraded to MySQL v8.x. We have had that version running in our Test environment for a little while now and have seen no adverse effects.



As part of the upgrade, the live version of ArchivesSpace will be unavailable for as much as 30 minutes on that date from 6–6.30p. If the upgrade goes as Lyrasis hopes, it might be down for less. But you know what they say about hope in one hand, software in the other.



Since it’s an after-hours upgrade, I might not easily be able to send a message when it’s back up, but I will try.
