[Yulcat-l] Two departures

Dear Colleagues,

With a somewhat heavy heart I write to inform you of some staff transitions 
if the History and Social Sciences Team in the SML Catalog Dept. Our very 
long-term team member Vera Walnycky retired at the beginning of Oct. Those 
of you in the Catalog Dept. know that she was increasingly unwell during 
the latter part of the summer and her decision to retire was partly driven 
by those health concerns. We will miss her diligent hard-working ways and 
her wry sense of humor.

On a happier note (for him, though equally sad for us) Earl Roy has decided 
to move to the north woods of Maine. Earl has been the cataloger for the 
Map Collection for the past five years while spending half his days 
cataloging books. Earl also served admirably on many Department and Library 
committees. His contributions to the Library were of an extraordinarily 
high caliber. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but especially 
by his team-mates who have enjoyed his company (and his technical 
expertise) for so many years.
