Precedence: list

On Sept. 16 OCLC successfully completed the merging of the SCIPIO
database into WorldCat and added the functionality for record
creation and maintenance for SCIPIO contributors. Part of the RLG
migration, "SCIPIO:Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs" is a database
providing bibliographic access to auction sales catalogs from all
major North American and European auction houses as well as private
sales. SCIPIO records can be identified with "scipio" in the 042
$a. Only SCIPIO participants are authorized to add or delete this
code from master records. Connexion users without SCIPIO
authorization may search, display, edit locally, and create
institution records based on SCIPIO records (if the user is
authorized to create IRs).
