 From the Desktop list. As noted, this issue includes the final 
update to SCM:SH 5th edition. The next edition will be issued in fall 
2008 under the title Subject Headings Manual.

    I am pleased to report that 2008 Issue 2 of Cataloger's Desktop 
is now online.  There are several notable updates in this issue, 
including updates to the MARC 21 formats and the final update to 
Subject Cataloging Manual: Subject Headings.  Another notewothy 
change is that "Subject Cataloging Manual: Classification" and 
"Subject Cataloging Manual: Shelflisting" have been replaced by 
"Classification and Shelflisting Manual." Several new 
metadata-related resources have also been incorporated into 
Cataloger's Desktop.

    As is always the case with new issues, we're still tracking down 
the little bugs that have cropped up.  Please let us know if you spot 
any gremlins and we will be glad to investigate.
