The document General Website Cataloging Policies & Procedures has
been posted, effective Feb. 4. This document addresses issues raised
when vendor-supplied cataloging for remote e-resources is not
available and cataloging needs to be provided by YUL staff. The
overall object of the policies is to keep maintenance of
bibliographic records to a minimum, provide guidance to catalogers
for some complex situations, and generally make the most efficient
use of limited staff time.

The policies are subject to change as new circumstances and
unforeseen issues occur. (For example, how to address the problem
when the vendor does not supply large numbers of bibliographic
records in a timely fashion.)

page in the e-Resources section, item 3.

The Catalog Policy and Documentation Committee would appreciate any
suggestions for further updates to this document as new workflow
situations and new cataloging difficulties are identified.
