Hello colleagues-
I'm writing to update you on a situation that we (Production Systems
and Catalog Management) have been dealing with for the last 3 weeks.
As you know, every Sunday night PST sends records that staff members
identify with the ExportQ client to the Backstage Library Works
company (BSLW) for MARS authority control processing. For the last 3
weeks, because of problems with BSLW's servers, PST has not been able
to send the records as usual.
What does this mean? Well, if you've marked a record for MARS
processing with the ExportQ client between Feb 4th and now, the
ExportQ client will probably flash red and remind you not to edit
that record when you bring it up. Since we haven't been able to
reload the records for 3 weeks, that means there is a greater number
of records that will be flashing red.
This update is just to let you know that PST and Catalog Management
are tracking the situation, and that you may see a higher number of
the "flashy" records because of this situation.
Eva Bolkovac from Catalog Management is in contact with BSLW, and
they are working to resolve their server issues so that we can resume
sending and re-loading our records like always.
If you have any questions, please contact Eva Bolkovac or
prodsys at mailman.yale.edu
Thanks!
