Subject: Info for staff on access to ILS and related systems in case of shutdown

Many staff have asked about access to the collections and r=
elated systems in case a government shutdown causes the Library to close. =
Here is some basic information.
All external traffic going to ANY LC resource on the Web (n=
ot just those those listed below) will be directed to a page that explains =
that the Library is closed due to a government shutdown. Non-essential sta=
ff will NOT be able to access the collections, including electronic resourc=
es, via the Web during a government shutdown.
These resources will NOT be available to any users off-campu=
s during a shutdown:
                                catalog.loc.gov
                                authorities.loc.gov
                                cocatalog.loc.gov
                                costaffcatalog.loc.gov
                                hlasopac.loc.gov
                                nlscatalog.loc.gov
                                eresources.loc.gov
                                Z39.50 access
All Voyager databases and catalogs, and the ERMS (Electronic Resource Manag=
ement System), will be running, but access will be restricted to those esse=
ntial staff on campus and Congressional users.
If you have additional questions about operations in the ev=
ent of a shutdown, please contact askhr at loc.gov<mailto:askhr at loc.gov>
I hope no one will have to use this information.
                Ann
