[Yulcat-l] OCLC weekly exports

Hello all-
A few staff have asked about a delay in records going to OCLC recently. As we all know, in the spring of 2015 OCLC announced that they would be discontinuing their support for institution records (IRs) in WorldCat at the end of June 2016.
Batchload creation/processing of IRs ended this past December, so that process ceased here at YUL at the end of last month as well. Consequently, when we returned from the winter break we had to suspend our weekly OCLC record loads - the extract and reload routine that manages the syncing of our bib records, as well as the OCLC master record (MR) numbers (and formerly, the IR numbers) between OCLC/WorldCat and Orbis - so library IT could modify their program to exclude IR numbers in 035 fields.
It has taken a bit longer than expected to test the new routine, but once everything is behaving as it should LIT will resume sending our records to OCLC regularly. New batchloaded records will only have the master numbers in the 079 field, as is the case now, but no 035 containing an IR number. Older records will still have the 035 IRs.
Once the weekly exports begin again, records will be sent retrospectively dating back to Dec. 25th. I'll send out another note at that time, but for now, this is why you don't see records having gone to OCLC since the end of December.
Thanks for your understanding and patience, and please let me know if you have any questions.
