Hello Catalogers!

If you do not use the RDA Toolkit at this time, you can happily delete this message.

You probably recall from the presentations in December that we are implementing Voyager 10 with our current workflows in mind. That said, testers noticed one new feature that we wanted to share straight away.

Do you use the RDA Toolkit regularly? If so, you might have already noticed the clever RDA tab in your Session Defaults and Preferences. Those of us who tested this tab were hooked immediately.

PROBLEM: The Ex Libris Macro for launching the RDA Toolkit from your Voyager Client conflicts with a hotkey assigned in Macro Express.
SOLUTION: Change one MacroExpress hot key. If you are not comfortable with MacroExpress editing, please feel welcome to phone me, or call your supervisor or other team expert.

I am here to help!

To use the RDA Toolkit in the Voyager 10 cataloging module, you'll first need to set up your RDA Toolkit access in the session defaults and preferences.
http://web.library.yale.edu/cataloging/voyager-10-defaults-preferences

Basic instructions for the MacroExpress change:
Open the MacroExpress window.
Click on the "Activation" column, to get all the hotkeys in order.
Go down to the activation "Shift F2"
Change that hotkey to "Shift F9" and save.
Now, when you click "Shift F2" in a bib record in the Cataloging module your RDA toolkit will appear! It can be a bit addictive.

Enjoy!
All the best,
