Hi everyone,

I edited the macro name "Copy MFHD ID" to fix the MFHD copy problem. It is attached.

If you want to update your macro file(s), you need to replace a macro already in you file with the attached version. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Save attachment CopyMFHDID somewhere on your PC, such as your desktop, where you can find it (do not double click attachment to open it)
  2. Open Macro Express
  3. Find macro named ""Copy MFHD ID" in "Other" categories folder and delete the macro (highlighted in example)

  1. Click Import Macros button and navigate to location where you saved the attachment, such as your desktop, select file and open
  2. Click on macro named "Copy MFHD ID" to select it (highlighted in example), and click Import button

  1. Click Exit to exit import window and then close or minimize Macro Express

Note that if you switch between the files with and without diacritics you need to replace the old macro with the new macro in both files.

Best regards,
Eric

Subject: [Yulcat-l] Known Problem with a Macro Express macro and Voyager 10

Hello Catalogers.

During testing we discovered an annoying problem with one of our Macro Express macros.

Yes! You can still copy the Bib ID from the Voyager Cataloging module bibliographic record, using "Ctrl + F2", as usual. Please feel welcome to continue using that macro. No changes need to be made. That's a relief because this macro is embedded in at least one other Macro Express macro in our standard set.

Sadly, this same Macro Express macro no longer works from the MFHD in Voyager 10. This problem is on the list to be fixed, and is related to a display change by Ex Libris. When using the macro CTRL-F2 to copy the MFHD holding number in the box, there is a space and the letter f added to the number because there is additional information in the title bar of the hldg# record (Holding ... for bib ... : [title]).

We tested all the macros, and could not find a problem caused by this display change in the MFHD; but that doesn't mean someone hasn't incorporated this MFHD CTRL F2 in a customized workflow somewhere. Please let me know if this holdings record macro causes problems with other macros! I would be grateful to hear about any conflicts this problem causes.

All the best,
