From yukari.sugiyama at yale.edu Fri Mar 5 09:50:06 2021 From: yukari.sugiyama at yale.edu (Sugiyama, Yukari) Date: Fri, 5 Mar 2021 14:50:06 +0000 Subject: [Yulcat-l] Updated Voyager Tag Tables Rolled Out Message-ID: Dear colleagues, The Voyager Cataloging tag tables will be updated on Wednesday March 10th at 9am. The update includes: * Bibliographic data format changes (December 2020) listed at https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bdapndxg.html * Authority data format changes (December 2020) listed at https://www.loc.gov/marc/authority/adapndxf.html * Holdings data format changes (December 2020) listed at https://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hdapndxf.html * Addition of a new field 954 for Reparative Description requested by AMDECO As Steelsen told you before, there is no action needed on your part - the update will install automatically when you connect to VPN if you are off-campus, or when you log into your PC if you are on-campus. In the unlikely event that you run into error messages where Voyager indicates that tag tables are "not found" then please let Library IT know through the report a problem form. A special thanks to Stephanie Bredbenner, Wheat Meier, Karen Spicher for testing the changes and to Cvetan Terziyski for running this rollout. As a result, our nightly sync stopped working. The problem with the sync process has now been corrected and transfers will resume again. As part of this, the materials that were not sent between October and the present will be sent to OCLC. This will result in a number of "extra" OCLC loads as we work through the backlog. There should be no impact to operations, but please be aware if you subscribe to the dataloads mailing list that you may see a larger-than-normal amount of OCLC-related activity. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns - I appreciate everyone's patience while this issue was being addressed.
