I would like to alert you to an OCLC project to enrich records with equivalent subject headings (see email below). Please note that we do not accept AAT or RVM subject headings in our records and that they need to be deleted manually when records are being imported from OCLC. We expect to improve 350 million WorldCat bibliographic records, making them more valuable to information seekers worldwide.

The project has two major components. We?ll control headings by linking subjects in existing bibliographic records to authority files. This will make it easier for you to maintain high-quality records to help library users find resources, and it will ensure that your records update when the language used in subject headings changes.

In addition, we?ll enrich records with headings that are mapped across authority files, such as from the French Canadian R?pertoire de vedettes-mati?re (RVM) into English-language authority files. This will help library users find the resources they need, regardless of what language they search in. For example:

If you're not sure whether a problem is on our end vs. OCLC's, one resource to consult is the OCLC systems dashboard. In this case, you can select Connexion and see that they're unaware of any disruption:

  *   Conforms to current security and technology standards, no longer requiring Administrator privileges to run

  *   Provides Help documentation online
  *   Enables better display of non-Latin scripts

At 4:30 PM on April 14, 2022, statistics for SACO proposals submitted during the time period October 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022 with be reported to the Library of Congress.

Please enter statistics for proposals made during that time period to the Technical Services: Cataloging Stats<https://yale.libinsight.com/datasetr.php?id=9060> form by 4:00 PM on April 14, 2022.

SACO Statistics are counted in the following categories:


  *   New LCSH: Proposals for new records in the LCSH, LCGFT, LCDGT, or LCMPT vocabularies.
  *   Changed LCSH: Proposals for updates to existing records in the LCSH, LCGFT, LCDGT, or LCMPT vocabularies, including cancellation proposals.
  *   New LCC: Proposals for new LCC numbers.
