Dear colleagues,
This is a friendly reminder to sign up<https://schedule.yale.edu/calendar/staff/metadata-edit-a-thon> for the edit-a-thon if you're interested in participating. It will be a nice opportunity for those affected by the Voyager technical freeze or who just want to collaborate on something we all care about. Plus, free food!
All best,
Daniel

Hi again, everyone.
I wanted to add a few things to last week's announcement.
First of all, if you click through the event link<https://schedule.yale.edu/calendar/staff/metadata-edit-a-thon>, you'll be able to register [1]. I don't think that was obvious in the earlier message.
Please register by June 4th to help us with planning.
Refreshments will be offered on June 10th starting at 1pm and lunch will be offered at 12:30pm on June 11th. We understand that some attendees will be coming directly from the Staff Appreciation lunch on the 10th, making them late. This will not be a problem.
The event will be a mix of training, demos, group discussion, and hands-on editing. Here is the preliminary break-down, subject to adjustments:
Session 1 June 10 1pm -4pm
1pm-1:30pm refreshments
1:30--2:15pm Confluence demo and training
2:15-2:30pm break
2:30pm-4pm Edit!
Session 2 June 11 9am-1pm
9am-9:30am Refreshments; Review of yesterday's session
9:30am-9:45am break
9:45am-12:30pm Edit!
12:30pm-1pm Lunch & wrap up
Some of you have offered to give 5 minute lightning talks on aspects of Confluence. This is much apppreciated. Please let us know if there are others out there who have tips, tricks or insights they'd like to share.
Also, for those working on Cataloging @ Yale pages, please take a look at the page "migration tracker<https://yaleedu.sharepoint.com/:x:/r/sites/YULMetdadataStrategyPolicySteeringCommittee/_layouts/15/Doc.aspx?sourcedoc=%7B36F31CEB-44C1-401B-B2B9-17F032A7BB47%7D&file=CatAtYale_MigrationTracker.xlsx&action=default&mobileredirect=true>" [2] and think about what you'd like to work on during the retreat. You'll notice that columns O and P attempt to identify the metadata advisory group or departmental unit that seemed most closely affiliated.
All best,
Daniel

Subject: Mark your calendars: Metadata Documentation Edit-a-thon on the afternoon of June 10 and the morning of June 11
Dear colleagues,
As many of you know, MSC has been working with AUXR's Jenn Nolte to hold a metadata documentation edit-a-thon in June. More information will be forthcoming about activities and scope, but I wanted to let you know the dates, times, and locations:
June 10: 1 – 4pm: HQ 134
June 11: 9 – 1pm: SML Lecture Hall
Here's the preliminary description: "Sponsored by the Metadata Steering Committee, the first session will kick off with some basic training and continue with teams of library staff reviewing, editing, and publishing content into Confluence, the new site for public-facing Yale Library documentation. Participants will also review content according to guidelines established by the Metadata Steering Committee including web accessibility, usability, and accuracy.' - https://schedule.yale.edu/calendar/staff/metadata-edit-a-thon
More information is forthcoming, but, in the meantime, let Jenn Nolte or me know if you have questions.
All best,
Daniel
