The Yale University Library has begun a one year pilot program for
supporting RefWorks, a software tool for managing bibliographic
citations. You can try RefWorks now,

To introduce staff to RefWorks, the SQI Instruction and Reference Groups
will co-sponsor two training sessions for library public service staff on
October 12, to be given by a RefWorks trainer, Linda Bush. Both sessions
will be held in the Staff Center for Multimedia Learning.
Session I: RefWorks Basics
Date and Time: Oct. 12, 10:30am - 12 noon
Location: Staff Center for Multimedia Learning
An introductory course for those staff with little or no experience with
bibliographic citation management tools. This class will cover importing
and creating new records in RefWorks, managing citations in RefWorks,
adding value to citations, and using RefWorks with Word to insert citations
in a paper and to automatically format a bibliography.
Who should attend: Public service staff with little or no knowledge of
citation management software.
Session 2: Advanced RefWorks
Date and Time: Oct. 12, 1:30pm - 3pm
Location: Staff Center for Multimedia Learning
This class will be aimed at those people with some experience using
citation management software. It will cover: customizing a RefWorks
library, tips to share with faculty for using RefWorks as a teaching tool,
creating new output styles, and troubleshooting advice.
Who should attend: Public service staff who are comfortable with the basics
of citation management software.
Since space in the Staff Center for Multimedia Learning is limited, you
must register for these classes. To register, send email to
