A long (loooonnnnggg) time ago, a number of you suggested that it would be
helpful for those doing instruction using e-resources to know whether there
are any simultaneous use limitations on products and other relevant
information that might be helpful in preparing for instruction sessions.

Some of you who work with the DBOW entry webpages may also remember that
there is a spot to record simultaneous use limits on the main database info
entry page, but that the information then never appears anywhere except if
you go back to that screen.

With the scripting genius of Karen Reardon, I can now tell you that we have
a webpage that presents administrative information relevant to instruction
of e-resources. In addition to simultaneous use limits, it also shows
information that has been recorded about the possibility of establishing
special instructional accounts.

http://resources.library.yale.edu/online/instinfo.asp

A word or two of caution. Since few people have to date had access to the
YELMO administrative database where the instructional
account/notes/contacts information are recorded, the information may be
lacking or out of date. However, if you want to see the information there,
and you know who the primary product/vendor contact is, you can work with
them to get the data recorded/updated.

http://www.library.yale.edu/wsg/webdatabases.html has a link to the Staff
Admin Info Edit Application which with appropriate password security will
permit editing the information displayed in the "public" instructional
information webpage. Instructional information editing is just one of
several choices for inputting e-resource information on the "admin info" tool.

And for those of you thinking ahead to an ERM, we will be migrating data
that has been input into the admin-info system to a future ERM, so please
don't hold off if you're raring to go with data entry.

Enjoy!
