[Yulpub] Public Workstations Summer 05

Hi Ernie,

Your message reminded me of a couple of things. I know people now can use
the USB drive to download files on the public machines, which I think is a
great improvement. But when I tested it with my own USB drive, there was
some error message showing up. Because I knew this should work, I just
ignored the message and was able to download the file. I only tested on the
workstations in our reading room, so I don't know if this is a universal
problem. Anyway, it will be great if you can make the error message go away
because some users might just give up after they see it.

In addition, I noticed the Chinese Pinyin IME on XP needs additional steps
to configure for typing both simplified and traditional characters. Staff in
WW&DC may have already known this, but if not, I will be happy to make a
demo.

Thanks!

Tao

WW&DCS will be updating the public workstations as we do every
summer. This year we will upgrading them to Windows XP. Please let me
know by Monday (5/16) what new software you'd like on our public
workstations.
