Dear EBSCO/host/ customer,
We are very excited to announce that later this fall, we will introduce
an innovative way for your users to learn about new EBSCO/host/
features, right on the EBSCO/host/ interface! Concurrently, we will
release enhanced searching and navigation features, based on extensive
customer feedback, particularly from CINAHL and MEDLINE users.
Traditionally, we have communicated directly to you about EBSCO/host/
and EBSCO/admin/ enhancements, via quarterly email announcements. We
will continue to provide you with advance notification.
In addition, once the new system of introducing EBSCO/host/ updates has
been implemented, your end users will be able to independently learn
about (/and often even try!/) new features as they are introduced, from
within their EBSCO/host/ research sessions.
Here's how it will work:
* You will continue to receive advance notification concerning new
features that are going to be added to EBSCO/host/ and EBSCO/admin./
* A /New Features/ page will be added to the EBSCO/host/ interface,
accessible via a /New Features/ link in the upper right corner of
the screen.
* The /New Features/ page will include a "What's New" section, where
new features that are available for sampling during the current
session will be listed with a /Try it!/ checkbox. Screen Shot.

(If you cannot click through the link, cut and paste this URL into
your browser:

* Library administrators will have complete control over whether the
/New Features/ page will be available in EBSCO/host/, as well as
which /Try it!/ features are defaulted to *ON* at the profile level.
* Features still under development will be listed in a new /Coming
Soon/ box on the right side of the /New Features/ page, with brief
descriptions included. As these features become available, they
will be moved to the "What's New" list, described above.
In addition, we will implement the following new EBSCO/host/ features (a
final message concerning the implementation of these and the /New
Features/ page will be sent to you a few days before they become
available for use):
* An /Auto Complete/ function will be added to allow users to type
partial terms and receive a list of terms from which to select the
correct keyword.
* In CINAHL and other databases that support MeSH functionality,
navigation on the subject authority screen will be improved, with
fewer clicks for smoother navigation.
* The Search History layout on the Advanced Search Screen will be
streamlined, with fewer columns and simpler functionality.
* An "Export" option will be included with /E-mail/ and /Save/
delivery options, from the record detail and folder Result List.
* The *Find* field on the Advanced, Guided Style Search Screen will
automatically expand, to accommodate longer search strings.
* An /Ask-A-Librarian/ link will be added within EBSCO/host/ (at the
library administrator's discretion, using EBSCO/admin/) to allow
users to send an email inquiry directly to a librarian.
