Invitation to participate in reference statistics project
During 2005 members of the Reference Group used funding from a SCOPA grant to
develop and test a more efficient, web-based, comprehensive, library-wide
system called Reference Tracking for collecting data on reference transactions.
Several YUL units including RSC, Law and Social Sciences participated in the
pilot project, which was a success. Now that the pilot has ended, the Group has
decided to continue this project and to invite others to start using this easy,
online system to track reference transactions. While RSC, Law, and SSLIS used,
and continue to use, this online system to record daily reference
statistics for
each member of their departments, it's also possible to use it to collect
statistics only on reference sampling days. To read the final report submitted
to SCOPA on the project and to learn more, please go to
http://www.library.yale.edu/scopa/grants/oldgrant.html. Under 2005 you'll
see "Reference Service Statistics Pilot."
If you are interested in participating in this project, I will be demonstrating
the online system and answering questions on the following dates:
February 16th - 9am - SML 411
February 22nd - 1:30pm - SML 409
February 21st - 2pm - Mudd Library, SCML
March 7th - 11am - SML 411
Please let me know whether you will attend or if you're interested but not
able to make any of the available sessions.
Thanks!
Kelly
