[Yulpub] Collections Collaborative symposium next week

If you have not already signed up for the Collections Collaborative 
symposium at 
http://www.yale.edu/collections_collaborative/symposium.html, may I 
encourage you to do so.  The theme of the symposium 
is  "'Mainstreaming Collections Reference' - librarians and curators 
working together to improve access to primary source materials for 
teaching and research at Yale." Participants will include special 
collections and "regular" public service staff, librarians, and 
curators from libraries and museums across the Yale system.

The schedule of the symposium will be as follows:
9:00 - 9:30 Coffee and refreshments available in Luce Hall Common 
Room (34 Hillhouse Ave.)
9:30 - 10:00 Welcome / Overview of Collections Collaborative activities
10:00- 10:45 Keynote address by Kenneth Hamma, Executive Director for 
Digital Policy and Initiatives at the J. Paul Getty Trust: "At the 
network level everything is just a resource .. at first"
10:45- 11:00 Break
11:00 - 12:00 Small group break-out sessions to discuss options for 
improving access to primary sources / followed by group discussion
12:00 - 12:45 Lunch provided in Luce Hall Common Room
12:45 - 2:45 Presentations by Yale librarians and curators regarding 
primary sources materials on topics related to the Yale Initiative on 
Race, Gender and Globalization
2:45 - 3:00 Wrap-up
