The Library Public Interfaces Committee will hold a class on 'Using the
Front Door Templates' for Library Web Developers' on:
Tuesday April 12th, 9:30-11:30 in the SCML Classroom.
This workshop is for library web developers who are designing pages to
use either the standard library Front Door templates or customizable Front
Door templates.
Standard library Front Door templates are in four categories:
Research Tools (e.g. http://www.library.yale.edu/researchtools/)
Libraries & Collections (e.g. http://www.library.yale.edu/libraries/)
About the Library (e.g. http://www.library.yale.edu/about/)
Library Services (e.g. http://www.library.yale.edu/services/)
Customizable Front Door templates allow library web specialists to create
a distinctive look for their pages that echoes the Yale Library Front Door
look. Examples of library web sites that use derivative templates:
Judaica Collection: http://www.library.yale.edu/judaica/
Cross Campus Library: http://www.library.yale.edu/ccl/ccl.html
Participants will learn:
-where and how to download the templates
-how the templates are structured
-how to use the templates in Dreamweaver to create new pages.
We will review documentation on Front Door standards, styles, and
color schemes and guidelines for graphics.
If you wish to register - e-mail me. Thanks.
