The Academic Media & Technology Web team has begun testing 'Roller' as a
blogging solution for the University. For the moment the URL is
http://nestor.its.yale.edu/roller, but this will change some time in May
to http://blogs.yale.edu. Details regarding account configuration can
be found online after you log in.

Timelines:
2 May through 1 September: Pilot phase. Service will be available for
testing by anyone with a Yale NetID. After May 2, please feel free to
invite colleagues and friends to explore this service.
Warnings: During the summer we will focus on documentation for end
users. Service will continue to be subject to brief (and unannounced)
outages. During the pilot phase we are asking all participants to
provide feedback regarding performance, interface, and documentation.

1 August: Final deployment of code. This will be the cutoff date for
upgrade/installation of the latest production release of the Roller
application code. Next scheduled upgrade would be over Winter break.

1 September: Production launch. All students, faculty, and staff with a
valid NetID will be invited to use the blogs.yale.edu service.

If you have feedback on roller, please send it on to the ITS Web Team. If
you have comments/ideas on the use of blogs in the Library - please post
your thoughts to yulwww. Thank you.

Other questions, email me, Blog away...
