[Yulwww] ICPSR URLs Changing

Hi,



According to http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/ICPSR/org/announce.html#urlchange, ICPSR will be changing the structure of the URLs for their studies soon.  I'm not seeing that we have any files on the SSL web site that would be affected by this:

at this time; we seem to have two in our SocSci LibGuides, which I'll change.



In case you're inclined to link to any ICPSR studies from now on, though, be sure to use, for example, http://dx.doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR24340, NOT http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/cocoon/ICPSR/STUDY/24340.xml.



As far as links for ICPSR Series are concerned, e.g., http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/cocoon/ICPSR/SERIES/00003.xml, according to ICPSR web support, nothing has to be done at this point, but an announcement on the new link structure for those is supposed to be coming.



I'll find out whether ICPSR will be (one would hope!) using the DOI URLs in their next annual batch of MARC records (http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/ICPSR/or/metadata/marc/).
