[Yulwww] FW: Targeting searches at LibGuides from external web pages

Dear colleagues,

At the Social Science Library, we are considering including LibGuides as a search target option (among others, such as library catalogs, subject FAQs) on our future website, and that's supposedly doable in principle with the LibGuides API utility - but we can only set that up for the Social Science Library LibGuides<http://guides.socialsciencelibraries.yale.edu/> with the standard configuration option available to us:

We would, however, also be interested in trying a version of this that searches all of the YUL LibGuides, across however many different installations there may be, and Marc Bertone at Springshare writes that that would be doable.  First, however, we would like to find out whether any other Yale libraries have already considered or usability-tested or implemented or already rejected or ... doing this, and if not, whether you would be interested in deploying this as well. You can definitely do this via the LibGuides API.  The first step would be to login to LibGuides and use the API Utility to select your search options.  ....



I should also mention that if you want, we can setup the API to search across all of your LibGuides sites, not just the main library.  If you want to go this route, let me know and I will provide you with the correct URL for searching all your sites.
