The warm weather produced a nice array of butterflies at the Steep
Rock Preserve today in Washington:
2 Eastern Pine Elfins nectaring on Bluets and the barely blooming Pussytoes
1 Eastern Comma
1 American Copper
2 gleaming West Virginia Whites
Peary
BTW If anyone finds (or, importantly, looks for and doesn't find)
West Virginia Whites this spring, please let me know details. I'm
trying to get a handle on their status in CT and any information
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
