Dean Jon Butler invites you to a lecture by Professor Anna Pyle, the
William Edward Gilbert Professor of Molecular Biophysics &
Biochemistry on "Catalytic RNA Molecules & the Origins of Biological
Diversity." Sponsored by GS Dean's Office and Kenneth Gerber Fund.
Lecture in 119 HGS McDougal Center, followed by reception in Common
Room.

Join us for the 4th lunch in our public service round table series.
This month's lunch will discuss issues surrounding the New Haven
elementary and junior high science fair. Find out how to get involved

that half of all graduate and professional students at Yale are

Speed Dating. We'll collect your date cards and email your matches
after the event. In order to run the event more smoothly, dates will
occur in two shifts in both the ballroom and Senate chambers. The

MCDOUGAL FELLOWS' TIPS OF THE WEEK

  * ERIN'S COMMUNITY SERVICE TIP OF THE WEEK
Take an hour a week and a love of children's books and what do you
get?  Volunteering at New Haven Reads to tutor a local student in
literacy and other academic skills!  This is a fun atmosphere that
needs tutors desperately because of a long waiting list of students.

  * LEANNA'S BLUE DOG TIP OF THE WEEK
February is chocolate month, so try our German Chocolate syrup in a
latte! Only $2.75.

  * PATRICIA'S COMMUNITY SERVICE TIP OF THE WEEK
Didn't get a chance to donate to the Yale-Harvard blood drive last
week?  Save your blood for March when we'll be hosting another blood
drive at HGS.  Stay tuned for details.

  * CAITIE'S ARTS AND CULTURE TIP OF THE WEEK
On February 26 at 6:00 PM, Carol Levitt Altieri will be reading her
poetry, including selections from The Jade Bower: New and Selected
Poems, at the Yale Bookstore. Open mic for poetry reading afterward.

  * ELIZABETH AND ELIZABETH'S HEALTH TIP OF THE WEEK
Researchers have some news for chocolate lovers: it may be good for
you! Scientists have reported evidence that eating moderate amounts
of cocoa and other chocolates may keep high blood pressure down, your
blood flowing and your heart healthy. McDougal's theme for the month
of February is chocolate - enjoy!

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer students, staff, and
faculty from all of Yale's schools, as well as more general education

The New Haven Public Library commemorates Black History Month with a
special screening of Strange Fruit, a documentary about the song that
became a Billie Holiday signature piece.  Screening is at the Main
