Scientific Assistant (Mammalogy)

The Department of Mammalogy at the American Museum of Natural History is
seeking a scientific assistant to participate in care and curation of
specimens in the AMNH mammal collections. The job involves a wide variety
of collection-based activities, including rehousing and movement of
collections, cleaning and maintenance of specimens, pest control, assisting
visitors, and other activities as assigned. The chosen candidate will also
spend some time providing research support to one of the curators, which
may include library research and data collection.

A BA/BSc in biology or a related field is required. Computer skills and a
background in systematics and/or vertebrate morphology are desirable, as is
experience or working with museum collections.

The starting salary for the position is in the region of $25,000 per annum.
