[NHCOLL-L:826] controlled substances

Does anyone have information regarding the regulations on controlled substances (i.e., drugs) specifically as they pertain to natural history collections?  I know there are special permits and things that must be done with respect to how drug plant specimens are stored but I'm getting mixed messages from our university person here.  I've seen the controlled substance regulations in terms of what is covered but I need the museum collection information.
