Hello,

I am interviewing for a position as collections manager with a natural
history museum that has a large collection of mounted specimens, a
herbarium, historic, and ethnographic collections. This museum does not
have a computerized data base, but is looking for the collections manager
to begin the process of inputting the collections data onto a
computerized collections management program.

Before the interview I would like to have some input about how one might go about starting this project, the best way to make sure the information is consistent and accurate, and how one might prioritize what was entered and when. Would it be
best to combine the data entry with a full collections inventory?

Any input would be helpful, thank you very much! Raney
