            The Milwaukee Public Museum has a new collection manager

Collections Manager, Invertebrate Zoology
 
As part of an expansion of its Research and Collections program, the
Milwaukee Public Museum invites applicants for a Collections Manager in the
Department of Invertebrate Zoology. The Milwaukee Public Museum, established
in 1882, holds more than 6.3 million objects and specimens in the
disciplines of anthropology, botany, geology, history, and zoology. 
Applicants should have a minimum of a M.S. degree or equivalent professional
experience to fulfill the duties of this position. Essential duties and
responsibilities include care of collections, data and records management,
processing and preparation of new and existing collections, coordinating
collections interpretation and access, and professional service at national
and international levels. We are seeking an experienced and energetic
professional who will participate in the improvement, expansion,
development, and data-basing of our growing invertebrate zoology
collections, currently numbering more than 750,000 specimens. 
The collections manager is also expected to participate in various public
service programs and educational activities (exhibits, lectures,
identification of specimens). Scholarly activities and research are
encouraged.
