At 8:30 this morning, Biological Sciences Chair Jack Lilien refused to give
me a key to the new locks on the Herbarium doors.

At 11 this morning, after more than 50 cabinets of specimens had been
packed, and 7 had been removed, the Iowa District Court issued a Temporary
Restraining Order.

The Restraining Order requires that "the Herbarium shall remain under the
control and supervision of the Curator, Diana G. Horton, and "specifically
directs that the Curator shall be given a key to any new locks placed upon
the doors of the Herbarium". It also requires that "Students...who rely on
the Herbarium for classes or research shall have continued access to the
Herbarium".

A hearing will be held on March 8th at 2:00 PM.
