Collections Manager - Cranbrook - Institute of Science

The Collections Manager is responsible for the general oversight of the
museum's permanent collection.  Responsibilities include, but are not
limited to:  coordinate and document outgoing and incoming departmental
loans, traveling and special exhibitions, newly accessioned works and
gallery installations; maintain records in the CIS collection management
system; coordinate and maintain annual inventory and related records;
oversee procedures and systems for digital imagery, storage, condition
monitoring and reporting, and risk management for all collections and
borrowed objects; track all location and inventory changes for all
collections objects and recommend strategies for their conservation. 
Requires a B.S. or B.A. degree in relevant natural science,
anthropology, history/material culture, with a minimum of one year
previous collections management/registration experience.  Attention to
detail, the ability to prioritize a variety of projects, and a
willingness to deal with a variety of individual learning styles and
levels of technological proficiency are also required.
