[NHCOLL-L:4296] International shipping of herbarium specimens

Colleagues:

Following up on Jean Shepard's inquiry a couple of weeks ago about postage costs for shipping, I thought of several questions that I would like to see comments, esp. from list members outside of the United States.


-          Is there a cost-effective way to send a trackable shipment to an international destination without causing undue problems (taxes, delivery not available to remote locations) for the recipient?


-          Are shipping methods being used causing problems for recipients?



-          What difficulties are folks having trying to get shipments into the United States?



-          Is anyone using a private courier/remail service to cut costs?
