Job Title:  Scientific Assistant, Department of Ornithology

Number of Openings:  1

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Department of Ornithology at the American Museum of Natural History seeks a full time Scientific Assistant who will contribute to collection care and maintenance in the Department. Duties include collection curation, processing loans, specimen preparation and processing, and facilitating visitor use of the collection.  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
o BA/BSc in biology or related field is required
o Museum experience, computer skills, collection databasing experience, and a background in systematic ornithology and specimen preparation are highly desirable.
o Field expeditionary experience is a plus
o The successful applicant will be expected to have good manual dexterity and time-management skills.


Hours:  35 hours/week
