Georgia Southern University's College of Science and Mathematics invites
applications for a collection manager position. The full text

"Employment Opportunities"). The position requires the curation of multiple
natural history collections. We seek a collection manager with broad
training in museum science, biological science, or related field. The
successful applicant should demonstrate excellence in curation including
experience in specimen preparation, storage, maintenance, accessioning,
cataloguing, and handling loans. Ability to maintain minor equipment and
all safety protocols is required. This position is a 12-month,
non-tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and
commensurate with qualifications and experience. *Required qualifications*:
M.S. or M.A. by 1 July 2013 in museum science, biological science, or
related field; Expertise with a variety of natural history collections,
curation, & digital databasing (including Specify, FileMaker, and/or
similar database software); good communication skills and ability to work
collaboratively with multiple curators & students. *Preferred Qualifications
*: One or more years' experience working in natural history collections.
Screening of applications begins 15 March 2013 and continues until the
position is filled. The preferred position starting date is July 1, 2013. A

experience and expertise; three letters of reference. Applications must be
