Fellow Natural Historians,
Please join those of us who work with fluid preserved collections in making
04 June an international celebration of Old Croone Day. It was on this day
in 1662 that that we find the first recorded instance of fluid preservation
of a natural history specimen. Details of the historical event are
attached.

Old Croone Day is celebrated around the world by imbibing a glass of your
favorite fermented beverage (a single malt scotch is recommended, but wine,
beer, or a healthy vinegar drink are fine, too).

Here's to you, William Croone.
