[Nhcoll-l] Alcohol bottle trays

Paul,

We use the system you are asking about. We have wooden racks that hold 4
16-oz jars each. The jars contain vials of specimens. We recently (three
weeks ago) moved our fluid collection to a new location and the racks made
the move a lot easier. We were concerned that the fire marshal would not
allow it (as Andy commented) because the California Academy of Sciences had
to abandon their wooden racks for fire safety concerns when they moved
their collections a few years ago. But our fire marshal was OK with it. So
this is definitely worth checking into before making any purchases. I am
happy to talk off-list if you want more information and a lead on some
wooden racks.

Pete
