Hi Lynn,

I am not sure where you can buy QR code labels. However, I implemented the use of QR codes on labels for the small insect collection at the Denver Botanic Gardens, and due to costs I just made and printed them myself.

If this interests you, here is a tutorial on how to make lots and lots of unique QR codes in Google Spreadsheet (for free). https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__tammyworcester.com_batch-2Dcreate-2Dqr-2Dcodes-2Din-2Dgoogle-2Dspreadsheet_&d=AwIGaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=CLFZJ3fvGSmDp7xK1dNZfh6uGV_h-8NVlo3fXNoRNzI&m=UVCtnXg4LyYfgjodal3Ukefr9bs_URMkGoXzxO3qtCc&s=sctpJ_vyyuz4dfLEl9Sf0BgtMzCPabF8uyaf3QmmTew&e=

As far as the scanner, we just use a free app on a smart phone that logs every scan into an exportable spreadsheet. While it might not be as immediately useful as a USB-plug in and use barcode scanner, it can still serve some limited purposes without having to buy an expensive scanner.

Best,

Rick Levy

Hello,
I am working on a project to image an existing herbarium collection for the first time. I would like to use QR coded lables for these specimens. Does anyone know where to purchase these lables? And a QR reader?
Thank you for your help,
Lynn
