Yes, the "default" gaskets that come with all bail top jars fail rather quickly due to the rubber perishing and cracking due to alcohol exposure.  We order replacement gaskets made of buna-n rubber which is much more alcohol resistant from Manufactured Rubber Products.  They have templates of various sizes that will fit most bail top jars including Le Parfait jars.

See the attached for outdated (2008) pricing with contact information. The size labelled Triomphe jars are the Le Parfait ones.

Hello everyone,

We have several fluid preserved specimens in French "Le Parfait Jars", and we have found that over time the gaskets (from Le Parfait) tend to turn soft and "melt."

Has anyone else found this issue with these or any other gaskets? Does anyone have a solution?
