?Justin, I would be happy to ship you all of our new orange gaskets that come with the Le Parfait (1, 2 and 3 liter); this would be the two sizes. We have stockpiled a bunch because I use them for our field collecting jars...and I hate to throw anything away! You can purchase these through Down To Earth, Eugene OR (google them).

If you wish to replace these with a better product, you may want to consider the Buna-N 55 -Duro white gasket. I have used these for 25 years in two different collections with great success. They are not cheap but they do not melt, crack, or otherwise fail for a long time. We replace them only when there is some evidence of compression.

Thank you to everyone that responded. It appears that I am going to have to order some new gaskets!

Subject: [Nhcoll-l] Melting Le Parfait Gaskets

Hello everyone,

We have several fluid preserved specimens in French "Le Parfait Jars", and we have found that over time the gaskets (from Le Parfait) tend to turn soft and "melt."

Has anyone else found this issue with these or any other gaskets? Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you,

Justin Mann
