Good people,

Thank you all for being in touch and being concerned about the Pringle
Herbarium. I am delighted to report that I have been inside the building
with the UVM and fire department people and discovered that as far as I
could tell from an admittedly rapid survey ALL of our accessioned
collection is secure and dry. As you might imagine, the building is a
mess— water everywhere and holes punched through the walls and roof, but we
have our Herbarium and we will simply move on in our work, if somewhat
impeded in the nearterm.

You might be interested to know that the firemen spread waterproof tarps
over the uppermost collection cabinets before they turned on the hoses. We
are also impressed with their incredible work.

again, thank you all for reaching out,

Dave
