3D digitization is a powerful tool for research with a rapidly expanding
user community. The resulting data are being used to preserve and share
information about physical objects and sites, and they also allow novel
analyses to be performed. Although there is great interest in 3D
applications in research, there is currently little available guidance
regarding the preservation of digital objects and associated information in
perpetuity.

Some colleagues and I are working toward gathering experts in 3D research
data and data preservation together to explore standards in preservation,
documentation and dissemination of the materials. We would like you to
complete this brief survey to understand your experience working with 3D
research data and your interest in collaboratively creating standards or
best practices. You will find the survey here

Please complete this survey by *Thursday, January 19th*.

We appreciate your participation in this survey and hope it will lead to
further dialogue. Feel free to forward this message to others.
