Hi Joan,

Thanks for the invite! I've been interested in 
developing best practices for wrapping and 
shipping specimens sent on institutional loan so 
this thread piqued my interest. But since my 
expertise deals with vertebrate fossils, a COG 
submission on this topic should probably come 
from someone who regularly handles wet collections.

Rachel's suggestion of the SPNHC Wiki is great 
too. I'm supportive of both these initiatives. 
Getting H&S information out to the people 
entrusted with handling these specimens and 
making decisions about materials and methods for shipment is important.
