Race-1800 -- an interdisciplinary working group | |

About Race-1800 | |
Race before 1800 is a venue to learn about and engage with the heated debates on race and race-craft in the premodern fields. This interdisciplinary working group brings together scholars of history, culture and identity in order to consider premodern discourses of race and racialization. We invite scholars interested in both Western and non-Western modalities and histories of race from all disciplinary backgrounds. Special attention will be paid to the various 'morphologies' of racialization, such as religion, culture, nation, ethnicity as well as appearance. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the Race-1800 Archives. (The current archive is only available to the list members.) |
