This is the official email list for the Yale Sound Studies Working Group, supported by the Whitney Humanities Center. The historical and cultural study of sound has blossomed in recent years in fields as diverse as music, media studies, anthropology, archeology, comparative literature, performance studies, and architecture. In most cases, these parallel lines of inquiry have informed one another without disengaging from their own disciplinary roots. This colloquium brings together scholars engaged in such research from across the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, reflecting the inherently interdisciplinary nature of sound studies and profiting from the impressive constellation of sound-related research projects taking place across the university. To post a message to all the list members, send email to soundstudies@mailman.yale.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to SoundStudies
