  Chocolate Strawberries

leading up to Sunday, February 13

We're now taking orders! CASA is selling handmade chocolate strawberries
during the week leading up to Valentine's Day! For just $3, we'll
deliver a wrapped package of chocolate strawberries to the suite of your
designated recipient on Sunday, February 13. We'll be tabling in
various dining halls during dinner next week, so keep us in mind when
you plan for your crush. They're also a delicious way to surprise your
friends, suitemates, and cultural group family members. For a schedule
of where we'll be tabling each night, see the Facebook event
<http://www.facebook.com/home.php#%21/event.php?eid=192737767422412>.
If you can't find us in the dining halls, you can also place orders
online. Go to http://yalecasa.com/strawberry/ to order!

Also, everyone is welcome to join CASA board at the AACC on Friday from
8-10 pm to help make chocolate strawberries!

*Interested in forming a student group for adopted Yalies?

*My name is Jenna Cook and I am a freshman in Davenport College. I was
adopted from China in 1992 and was raised in Massachusetts. I am hoping
to form a student group adopted Yalies to each other. Although there
are many Yale clubs that provide cultural outreach to young children
adopted from China, Korea, or Vietnam, Yale has yet to have a group for
adopted adults.

I am interested in exploring our diversity of ideas and narratives,
finding common ground, and finding friendship. Perhaps this could take
the form of panels and discussions about adoption, fundraising for our
orphanages, or any other creative way in which we explore our adoptive
identity. It would also be great to engage in non-adoption related
activities—like going to the movies or out to eat together!

This group is primarily for students who are adopted (domestically or
internationally), but is also welcome to students who have adopted
siblings or parents, students who may want to adopt someday, or anyone
else whose life has been touched by adoption.

Our first meeting will be for dinner on Thursday, February 11th at
5:30pm in the Davenport Fellows Dining Room. The room is inside
Davenport dining hall, up the stairs above the servery, and to the left
at the top of the stairs. I’ll bring Claire’s cake for desert!

Please RSVP to jenna.cook at yale.edu by Monday, February 7th so I know who
to expect (and how much cake to get!) Even if you cannot make this
meeting, please e-mail me anyways and introduce yourself. I would love
to get to know you!
